Part Time Direct Support Professional

Hope House Foundation is currently hiring part-time employees to work evenings and weekends. Our support staff work directly with the people receiving services assisting with all activities of daily living. Support staff assist individuals with preparing their meals, maintaining their apartments, completing laundry, medical appointments, recreation and socialization, personal hygiene and any other tasks that the individuals may desire assistance. Hours available on weekdays are generally 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. shifts. We have various shifts open on the weekend in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Support staff are matched with a specific location/ team and develop a regular schedule with their supervisor. A one year commitment is preferred. Support staff must be able to work a minimum of two shifts per week plus attend a monthly team meeting. Behavior Support Specialist
Hope House Foundation is currently accepting applications for a full time Behavior Support Specialist position. The Behavior Support Specialist position is responsible for addressing behavioral and crisis support needs through ongoing, proactive presence at teams. Hope House Foundation operates services in Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach.
The Behavioral Support Specialist is responsible for addressing behavioral support needs through ongoing, proactive presence at teams. Successful applicant must be currently endorsed as a Positive Behavioral Support Facilitator in Virginia OR have a Bachelorís Degree and a commitment to secure Positive Behavioral Support Endorsement (with HHF sponsorship) in order to provide Therapeutic Consultation-Behavioral under the ID and DD Waivers. Behavior Support Specialist will partner and receive supervision from the HHF Consulting Director. Duties include: Provide team-based monitoring, tracking and assessment of initial and ongoing behavioral support needs including data review. Regular attendance at Core, Team and Consultation meetings Work in collaboration with Consulting Director regarding development of initial plans, amendments to current plans and staff training needs. Provide team-based training in plan implementation, including plan review, observation and modeling implementation of behavioral support plans. Significant Event Report review and provide follow up on Significant Event Reports. Complete shadow shifts with new staff and retraining established staff. Provide support for Agency trainings (Orientations, Team-specific PBS, Mandt). Provide some pre-crisis support. The Dominion team is seeking a reliable, dedicated, and kind individual to fill a full time Direct Support Professional position. The Dominion team is located in Norfolk near O.D.U. campus. The support assistant provides direct care to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities living in their own apartments in the community. The individuals receiving support with day-to-day tasks are adults with a wide variety of needs and interests. The support assistant helps with many tasks including meal preparations, grocery shopping, laundry, medications, recreation, and hygiene. Individuals may use wheelchairs and require assistance with lifting and transferring. The support assistant is one of approximately twenty staff persons working as part of the team. We are looking for a motivated individual who works well as part of a team and takes the initiative to get things done. In addition to the annual salary, other benefits include no cost health insurance, dental insurance, and generous paid leave.
