Hope House Foundation is currently accepting applications for a full-time direct care support assistant for one of its teams. Hope House Foundation operates services in Norfolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. Each employee is matched with a location that becomes his/her "home team". The Lake Village team is seeking a reliable, dedicated, and kind individual to fill a full time Direct Support Professional position. The Lake Village team is located in the Deep Creek area of Chesapeake. The support assistant provides direct care to adults with cognitive disabilities living in their own apartments in the community. The individuals receiving support with day-to-day tasks are adults with a wide variety of needs and interests. The support assistant helps with many tasks including meal preparations, grocery shopping, laundry, medications, recreation, and hygiene. Individuals may use wheelchairs and require assistance with lifting and transferring. The support assistant is one of approximately twenty staff persons working as part of the team. We are looking for a motivated individual who works well as part of a team and takes the initiative to get things done. In addition to the annual salary, other benefits include no cost life and dental insurance, and generous paid leave.

The schedule is: Sunday and Monday 7a-3p and Tuesday through Thursday 1p-9p (schedule flexibility required)

$26,021.60 annually no cost dental insurance

Truck Driver Part-Time

Hope House Foundation is currently accepting applications for a part-time truck driver for its Thrift Store in Norfolk. Hope House is a non-profit agency that provides residential services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The thrift store employs approximately 6 staff. Unlike other thrift shops, 100% of the revenue of the HHF thrift store supports the people receiving services from Hope House.

Truck Driver, part-time: Hope House Foundation, a non-profit serving adults with developmental disabilities, is seeking a part-time, flexible, customer-oriented individual to fill a 24 hour truck driver position at the Thrift Store located in Norfolk. Duties include: drive truck to perform pickups of donated items and/or deliveries of purchases; move heavy items(couches, desks, etc.); work in tight areas (stairwells);sort and price merchandise; assist with cleaning tasks. Must have a pleasant attitude and good customer service skills. Must be neat and clean in appearance. Must have valid Virginia driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Must have a clean criminal history record. Two professional references are required.

The schedule is: Monday, Tuesday and Saturday 10a-6pm
