Full Time Support Assistant

Hope House Foundation is currently accepting applications for a full-time direct care support assistant for one of its teams. Hope House Foundation operates services in Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach. Each employee is matched with a location that becomes his/her "home team". We provide thorough training for new employees and there are opportunities for advancement within the organization!

The Speedy team is seeking a reliable, dedicated, and kind individual to fill a full time support assistant position. The Speedy team is located in Chesapeake, off of Providence Road. The support assistant provides direct care to adults with cognitive disabilities living in their own apartments in the community. The individuals receiving support with day-to-day tasks are adults with a wide variety of needs and interests. The support assistant helps with many tasks including meal preparations, grocery shopping, laundry, medications, recreation, and hygiene. Individuals may use wheelchairs and require assistance with lifting and transferring. The support assistant is one of approximately twenty staff persons working as part of the team. We are looking for a motivated individual who works well as part of a team and takes the initiative to get things done. In addition to the annual salary, other benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, and generous paid leave.

The schedule is: Tuesday 7am-3pm; Wednesday 7am-3pm; Thursday 7am-4pm; Friday 7am-3pm; and Saturday 7am-2pm.

$20,897.04 annually
