Part Time Direct Support Professional

Hope House Foundation is currently accepting applications for part-time direct care support staff. The support staff position is rewarding, challenging, and fun! There are 14 different service teams located in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Norfolk. We are looking for professional people willing to go the extra mile with a friendly demeanor and caring heart.

Hope House Foundation is currently hiring part-time employees to work evenings and weekends. Our support staff work directly with the people receiving services assisting with all activities of daily living. Support staff assist individuals with preparing their meals, maintaining their apartments, completing laundry, medical appointments, recreation and socialization, personal hygiene and any other tasks that the individuals may desire assistance. Hours available on weekdays are generally 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. shifts. Support staff are matched with a specific location/ team and develop a regular schedule with their supervisor. A one year commitment is preferred. Support staff must be able to work a minimum of two shifts per week plus attend a monthly team meeting. The hourly rate for this position is $10.25.

CSC

The agency is seeking a reliable, energetic, and resourceful person to fill a Community Support Coordinator position. Leadership abilities and effective communications skills are needed in this role.

The open position is located in the City of Chesapeake in Deep Creek. The Community Support Coordinator develops links and connections in the community that support true integration and community participation for the people receiving services from Hope House Foundation. Duties include but are not limited to: The development of inclusive activities and natural supports for those individuals supported by Hope House Foundation, securing knowledge of local clubs, culture and neighborhoods in order to better plan and achieve integration. To assist with activities of daily living including but not limited grocery shopping, apartment maintenance, laundry, persal hygiene, and recreation. To serve in a leadership role in the team in terms of ensuring services are being delivered properly, helping staff problem solve service needs, and assisting with scheduling issues when the supervisor is not at team in the late evenings and on weekends.

The schedule is: Tuesday through Saturday 2:00pm 10:00 pm.

Human Resources Director

Hope House Foundation is currently accepting applications for a full time Human Resources Director for its Administrative Office located in Norfolk, VA. The Human Resources Director position requires proficiency in administrative, personnel and accounting functions. Strong analytical and people skills are a must and flexibility is required. Supervisory experience required.

Hope House Foundation seeks a highly skilled, conscientious, and positive individual to serve in an important administrative team leadership position. The Human Resources (HR) Director oversees all human resources department activities and has responsibility for supervising the Human Resources Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. Some key duties of the HR Director include: procuring and maintaining employee benefits, managing all worker's compensation and commercial insurance claims, and ensuring the agency's compliance with all human resources related laws and regulations. Proven leadership skills & the ability to maintain a supportive, productive, and participatory workplace is required. Key position qualifications: (1) Strong time management & organizational skills; ability to multi-task (2) Effective written & verbal communication skills (3) Strong computer skills including fluency with MS Office applications Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook (4) Experience & maturity to lead others Additional duties: -Attending meetings and making presentations and recommendations to a variety of audiences, e.g. Leadership meetings, Support Staff meetings, HR Orientations, etc. -Manage and coordinate employee benefit programs (medical, dental, flex spending retirement plan, STD, LTD, Life/AD&D, vacation, sick leave and COBRA), including all employee communications, problem solving, recordkeeping and claims resolution. -Manage unemployment filings and worker's compensation program (i.e., file claims, conduct follow-up). -Advise the agency on compliance matters with respect to federal, state and local laws related to employee benefits, compensation, employment and training. Remain current with changes in human resource and employment law. -Oversee personnel record keeping related to new hires, employee reviews, promotions, transfers and separations. -Lead agency Health & Safety Committee. -Serve as an internal consultant to managers and advisor/mediator in employee situations. -Advise management regarding all employee terminations; oversee all aspects of employee terminations. -Lead and oversee annual open enrollment with brokers, employees and coordinate with other departments and follow up paperwork. -Oversee Return to Work Program for employees on restricted duty. -Serve as internal consultant to the administrative team, supervisors and employees on personnel issues that affect performance.

The schedule is: Monday through Friday 8:30a-4:30p flexibility required
