I worked today for an organization in a sea of change, ironic as they bill themselves as a place by the sea, but the two do not relate. High housing costs, difficulty recruiting and keeping staff, rules and regulations that change constantly and in the middle or sometimes on the sidelines… people with disabilities. I am becoming convinced more and more that this learning curve we find ourselves on becomes a slope and then a mountain of giant proportion at a moment’s notice. It seems to me that people in this business of supporting people with learning disabilities don’t spend enough time celebrating what is going well, but maybe I don’t get hired to facilitate those types of days.
