Before this year comes to a close, we wanted to reach out to thank you for your generous assistance to Hope House Foundation and remind you of all the good it does for those we serve. 2018 was another great year for our organization, which really means that we were again successful in helping so many adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities experience a life with choices and connection to the community.

Over our more than 50 years of service, we never cease to be amazed by the number of people who come forward with a true commitment to us, nor the level to which they give. We want to assure you that we never take one donated penny or hour of time for granted.

Looking back on 2018, it was business as usual – plus some – for Hope House Foundation and those we support.  Always with an ear to the ground, we continued to build our organization, looked for innovative ways to provide services and continued to show fortitude.  This past year, Hope House increased the number of people we support with safe and affordable housing through a public/private housing initiative in Virginia Beach, expanded our assistive technology, and even went through a hurricane evacuation.

Today Hope House supports 125 people. Our ability to provide valuable services and amenities has grown well beyond simply providing an alternative to an institutionalization or group home. None of it would be possible without your generosity. As you well know the financial challenges facing not-for-profit organizations never goes away and costs always seem to rise.

We know that our thanks are just words, but they are heartfelt. To truly understand what your continued generosity means, you just have to look at your own life. Having modest choices, new opportunities and support to live in a home of your own is what we offer to people with disabilities. Inclusion in our neighborhoods, communities and personal lives is truly the greatest gift of all. Please consider an end-of-year donation. We can assure you it will go to good use.

Thank you.
